PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a high quality display of subpixel accuracy by suppressing accumulation of flatness in a background part of a translucent composite image, in a display device with coloring elements of RGB juxtaposed. SOLUTION: This display device displays the translucent composite image of a foreground image and a background image. The device is equipped with a foreground variation detecting part 42 detecting a difference of visual features by comparing every subpixel to surrounding subpixels in the foreground image; a filtering necessity determining part 43 for determining the necessity or not of filtering processing based on the magnitude of the difference of the visual features; and a filtering processing part 45 filtering only a subpixel requiring filtering processing in the translucent composed image to form a display image.
