PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for disaster prevention in a tunnel, zoning a fire occurrence zone in the occurrence of a fire and easily suppressing diffusion of high-temperature combustion gas and high-temperature smoke to an opposed route and/or a passage along the fire occurrence route. SOLUTION: A longitudinal zoning means 7 actuated in the occurrence of the fire and longitudinally zoning the inside of the tunnel 1 is laid on a ceiling part 6 of the tunnel in a boundary position with the opposed route 2 in the tunnel 1 and/or opposed to the boundary position between the route 2 and a pedestrian passage 3. The disaster prevention method for the tunnel detects the fire in its occurrence, actuates the longitudinal zoning means 7 to divide and zone the fire occurrence route from the opposed route 2 and/or the pedestrian passage 3, shuts the combustion gas and the high-temperature smoke layer in the fire occurrence route 2 and suppresses the diffusion.
