PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional sensor which can be driven by comparatively small energy while securing a wide detection area. SOLUTION: A transmitter 10 converts a temperature change in a heat generating part into the expansion/contraction state of a medium to generate a coarse/fine wave which is propagated in the medium, and is driven by a sending control part 11 to generate the coarse/fine wave caused by a single pressure change in the medium. A receiver 20 is provided with a plurality of receiving elements 21, received signals from the receiving elements 21 are composed after a latency time is adjusted in a directional control part 22, and the directivity of the receiver 20 is controlled. A three-dimensional location detecting part 23 finds a distance to an object Ob from a time from the sending of the coarse/fine wave from the sending apparatus 10 to the receiving of the wave in the receiver 20 in the direction of a main beam of the receiver 20 set by the directional control part 22.
