摘要 PURPOSE: A method for producing malic acid using metabolically engineered Escherichia coli and pckA(phosphoenolpyruvate A) gene is provided, thereby improving productivity of malic acid using a transformed host cell. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing malic acid using metabolically engineered Escherichia coli and pckA(phosphoenolpyruvate A) gene comprises the steps of: constructing a recombinant vector p104ManPck(KCTC 10274BP) containing the pckA(phosphoenolpyruvate A) gene having the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 13; transforming a host cell such as Escherichia coli with the recombinant vector p104ManPck(KCTC 10274BP); and culturing the transformed host cell, wherein the pckA(phosphoenolpyruvate A) has the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 14; the host cell has one or more inhibited cycles selected from acetic acid cycle, lactic acid cycle and ethanol cycle; and the host cell is selected from Escherichia coli WGS-1, WGS-10(KCTC 10274BP) and WGS-3(KCTC 10327BP).
