PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot rolled steel sheet which is made into the stock for a hot dip galvanized original sheet in which volume-blistering in coiling of the edge parts does not occur after hot dip galvanizing. SOLUTION: The profiles of sheet thickness are controlled so as to satisfy the following inequalities (1) and (2): H<15μm (1), and C≥W/2+α(2); wherein: H is the the amount (μm) of high spots generated within 100 mm of the edge parts of the sheet width; C is the amount (μm) of crowns in the part excluding the part of 25 mm from the edge parts of the sheet width; W is the amount (μm) of wedges in the part excluding the part of 25 mm from the edge parts of the sheet width; andαis the constant (μm) decided by the sheet width Wh (mm) of the stock hot rolled steel sheet; and, in the case of Wh<1,400,α=-11μm, in the case of 1,400≤Wh<1,500,α=0μm, in the case of 1,500≤Wh<1,600,α=7μm, and in the case of 1,600≤Wh<1,700,α=13μm.
