PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base paper for a gas barrier paper container improved in a gas barrier property formed by laminating a vapor deposited film layer comprising a vapor deposited thin layer of an inorganic oxide laminated on a paper substrate, and a sealant layer of a polyester type resin extremely superior in a heat sealing property, a low adsorbing property and a moldability (extrusion processability), and having the sealant layer superior in an adhesive strength, a heat resistance and a service life time and also especially superior low adsorbing property. SOLUTION: The base paper for the gas barrier paper container with the low adsorbing sealant layer is formed by laminating the vapor deposited film layer comprising the vapor deposited thin layer made of at least the inorganic oxide formed on a paper substrate, a laminating resin layer comprising a laminating resin composition of a linear polyethylene type resin produced by using a single site catalyst and the sealant layer of the polyester type resin in order.
