PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-purpose wooden block or panel having a sufficient strength while applying a natural texture of growth rings. SOLUTION: The strength required for the wooden block 1 is obtained by impregnating, with a resin, a wood piece having a growth rings-appeared cross section as a designed face 1a without disrupting a growth rings pattern of the face 1a. Since the designed face 1a has a silicified wood texture by a resin coating film, it is possible to obtain the wooden block 1 in which the texture of growth rings pattern is sufficiently applied. Such a wooden block 1 can attractively be used for various applications such as a pavement material for road surface decoration, wall material for decorating wall surfaces, indoor floor material, playing piece, bench, table, sign or monument.
