PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for escaping overload of an electric servo press which can surely escape from a sticking-state without arranging a special device, such as an overload protector, and can simplify this system. SOLUTION: When the pressurizing work is applied, a material to be worked is pressurized under loading a torque limitation with a first torque limited value (T1) in an electric servo motor (21) for driving a slide (3), and when the sticking-state of the slide (3) is developed, the electric servo motor (2) is reversively rotated under loading the torque limitation with a second torque limited value (T2) setting at larger than the first torque limited value (T1) to escape the slide (3) from the sticking-state.
