PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentrated volume coil electric motor with optimized coil cooling and slot filling. SOLUTION: Optimization of the coil cooling and the slot filling of the concentrated volume coil electric motor 10 maximizes the coil cooling of the motor, without reducing the slot filling factor, to improve the torque density and efficiency of the motor. The motor is used with a stator 12, provided with stator teeth of a trapezoidal shape separated by rectangular stator slots. A coil 16, arranged around each stator tooth, partially occupies the slot with a rectangular space left between the coils of each group. A cooling pipe 18 is arranged in this remaining space. The rectangular shape of the cooling pipe can bring it to come into contact with one coil part, in all the outer sides of the adjacent coil, to offer efficient conduction of heat between the cooling pipe and the coils. By arranging the cooling pipe which is normally not in a use part the stator, without reducing the slot filling factor of the motor, efficient cooling of the motor enbales a high-current operation, and to improve the torque density and the efficiency of the motor.
