PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a database capable of easily managing attribute information for an optional point on a map. SOLUTION: A map database DB comprises a map layer and attribute layers. Map data are recorded in the map layer, and data for giving attributes to the optional point on the map are recorded in the attribute layers. Each attribute layer and the map layer show a section of the same area in a common coordinate system. In each attribute layer, attribute information showing an attribute and polygon data showing the section on the map corresponding to the attribute are recorded in association with each other.
