The hinge has two or more coupling parts swivelling relative to each other about a swivel axis (21). The coupling parts and axis can be countersunk in recesses in the parts being coupled so that when the parts are pivoted the swivel axis can be moved out of the recesses. The coupling parts can be connected together through swivel elements which are connected together to swivel about the swivel axis. Each one end of the swivel elements projecting beyond the swivel axis has a swivel joint (39,40) with one of the coupling parts.
