<p>An oil burner (1) serving for combust an oil in a combustion chamber (3). The oil burner comprises a burner casing (6); an atomizer cup (19); an oil pump; a shaft (8) with the atomizer cup (19); and a motor (2) for rotating the shaft (8) during operation. The burner furthermore comprises an inlet cup (20) facing in opposite direction of the atomizer cup (19). The oil is supplied to the inlet cup (20) and guided via a number of guide channels (33) in a partition (18) from the inlet cup (20) to the atomizer cup (19). The partition (18) with the guide channels (33) functions as a centrifugal pump pumping air through the guide channels (33). The air is drawn in form an air chamber (16) via a narrow slit (35) whereby it expands and its temperature drops. The cold air is used as cooling air for cooling the atomizer cup (19) which therefor continuously can stand the heat stress form the flame without being damaged. The oil burner has a simple, reliable construction which is well suited for heavy oils of varying grade such as e.g. vegetable oils.</p> |
