Organic compound(s) is prepared by heterogeneously catalyzed partial gas-phase oxidizing of organic precursor compound(s) in a reactor loaded with catalyst, and bringing portion of components of the reaction gas starting mixture from low initial pressure to higher final pressure using a compressor. The compressor used is a radial compressor.
