1. A heating cable of a multi-layer construction comprises from inside out the following elements: - main electro heating conductor, - a first insulation and substantially air tight layer (2), - a layer (3), made from glass fibre ceramic strip directly close-fitting the first layer, - a reinforcement layer (4) having fibrous, a wire mesh, cellular or porous structure, - a second insulation and substantially air tight layer (5). 2. The cable according to claim 1, wherein the metal mesh (4) is made of metal wire braid. 3. The cable according to claim 2, wherein the metal mesh (4) consists of nickel-plated copper wire. 4. The cable according to any one of claims 1-3, wherein at least one substantially air tight layer (2, 5) is made of perfluoralkoxy-copolymer (PFA). 5. The cable according to any one of claims 1-4, wherein the inner diameter of the reinforcement layer (4) exceeds the outer diameter of the layer (3) beneath it to form an air gap layer.
