<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure execution of a normal printing process by preventing wrong operations in a mode switching process. <P>SOLUTION: Control data sent from an external device 20 is sent via an input means 11 to a judging means 13. At the judging means 13, an identifier for mode switching which is possessed by the control data composed of a printer language is recognized. Moreover, a state of a mode switching restriction flag taken out from a storage means 16 is detected. When the mode switching restriction flag is in a set state, the mode switching process is not carried out and the control data is sent to a mode control means 14 to which the control data is sent last time. On the other hand, when the mode switching restriction flag is in a release state, the mode switching process is carried out, and the control data is sent to the mode control means 14 after the switching process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
