<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning means for cleaning areas for improving the maintenability, in a magnetic tape device using a cartridge having a cleaning function. <P>SOLUTION: A single-reel magnetic tape unit, having the cleaning area for a magnetic head at a leader tape 32 or a leader block, the leader tape, and including a cleaning part or the cleaning block 31 for cleaning the leader block, is provided so that the leader tape and the cleaning area 32 are kept clean; and the load on the user can be reduced, by permitting the replacement of the cleaning block 31 through a cleaning a block replacement hatch, provided on the upper surface part of the magnetic tape device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
