<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a catalyst by obtaining a catalyst material which contains Ce, Zr and a catalytic metal except Ce and Zr and in which each component is homogeneously dispersed. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the catalyst material comprises a step 1 for preparing an acidic solution containing each ion of Ce, Zr and the catalytic metal, a step 2 for mixing the acidic solution with aqueous ammonia to co-precipitate Ce, Zr and the catalytic metal as hydroxides and a sept 5 for firing the co-precipitate to obtain a multiple oxide containing Ce, Zr and the catalytic metal, and in the co-precipitation step 2, the mixing of the acidic solution with the aqueous ammonia is completed within 2 minutes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
