PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner, the operability of which is enhanced. SOLUTION: In the vacuum cleaner, one end part of a hose body is mounted on the case body in communication with the suction side of a suction air path. The vacuum cleaner is provided with an ON/OFF switch 73 to stop the drive for rotating a rotary brush 44 with a motor 45 when a connection pipe 52 is turned to keep the suction air path in a specified condition with respect to the lower end face 40. This enables the stopping of the drive for rotating the rotary brush 44 with the ON/OFF switch 73 without any operating action thereby improving the operability in the cleaning with a hose body.
