PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel of which the manufacturing cost is reduced by reducing the number of required data electrodes. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel has a plurality of first display units and second display units. The first and second display units comprise a plurality of maintenance electrodes, scanning electrodes, and data electrodes, wherein those electrodes are adjoining and alternately arranged. Maintenance electrodes and scanning electrodes form at least two adjoining first and second electrode combinations. Each electrode combination has one maintenance electrode and scanning electrode. Data electrodes are placed along the direction almost orthogonal to the maintenance electrode and the scanning electrode. The first display unit corresponds to a first primary color and is controlled by the first data electrode and the first electrode combination.
