<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display driving circuit capable of detecting motion with less storage capacity compared with conventional examples. <P>SOLUTION: This plasma display driving circuit is a circuit for expressing gradation by dividing one field into a plurality of subfields and controlling the turning ON/OFF of each subfield light emission. The circuit is equipped with a signal switching part 1 which forms a lighting pattern to be used for turning ON/OFF control of each subfield from the gradient of an inputted image signal. The circuit is also equipped with a pseudo-contour processing part which detects whether an image is a still picture or a moving picture by comparing change in the lighting pattern before and after the light emission, and which, if detecting as a moving picture, makes adjustments in the emission and non-emission of light of a prescribed subfield in the lighting pattern to perform a pseudo-contour suppressing processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
