<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily operate an engine capable of performing intermittent operation without causing wear between slide members due to worsening of lubrication characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: Permission property of intermittent operation of the engine is determined in accordance with a condition of lubricating oil supplied between the slide members constituting the engine. Form (for example, permission or inhibition) of intermittent operation of the engine is controlled based on the results of determination of the permission property. "The condition of lubricating oil" is determined based on, for example, viscosity of lubricating oil, oil temperature (step S13), oil pressure, degree of deterioration or amount of supplied oil. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
