<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the use of a new recording head and ink improved in image quality in an image processing optimized therefor without newly purchasing a printer. <P>SOLUTION: In a printer system, a printer driver enabling the use of a plurality of identifiable recording heads and ink tanks in the printer and having image processing control information corresponding to each of them is used. The printer driver selectively uses the image processing control information according to an identification signal of the recording head or ink tank, performs image processing of printing data formed in a host computer on the basis of the image processing control information, and then converts the data to a printer control command.
