<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device which generates a fixed control signal regardless of an operating direction, and prevents the generation of a control signal due to any erroneous operation, and also to provide electronic equipment capable of moving an object to be controlled on a display picture at a speed corresponding to the moving quantity of an operating part regardless of the direction. <P>SOLUTION: When a point where the moving quantity of a slide key 1 is zero is defined as an origin, and the maximum value and minimum value of moving quantity when the slide key 1 is moved until butted to an opening peripheral edge are respectively defined as max-max and min_max, an arithmetic part 4 sets the strength of a control signal as zero when the slide key 1 is positioned in a circular area whose radius is the n/N times of max_max (n and N are arbitrary positive integers and n is less than N) with the original point as a center, and sets the strength of a control signal as strength corresponding to the moving quantity of the slide key 1 when the slide key 1 is positioned in a circular area whose radius is more than n/N times of the max_max and not more than min-max, and sets it as the same strength as the moving quantity of the slide key 1 is min_max when the slide key 1 is positioned in the area whose radius which is more than min_max. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
