PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder capable of allowing a user to use any of a dye ink and a pigment ink by a method wherein risk of inventory cost at a side of a manufacturer is reduced, and replacement of a dye or a pigment can be realized by suppressing the damage to the environment because of the disposal of the inventory. SOLUTION: This inkjet recorder performs the recording by ejecting the ink on a recording medium. The inkjet recorder has an ink tank holder 1 for holding an ink tank 3 with a recessed/projected section 7 as a discrimination section corresponding to a kind of the ink accommodated therein. The ink tank holder 1 has a rib as the discrimination means corresponding to the recessed/projected section 7. The ink tank holder 1 can hold any kind of the ink tank in its initial stage. However, once the ink tank 3 is loaded thereto, only an ink tank in the identical kind of the ink tank 3 loaded thereto can be held by the ink tank holder 1 because the ink tank has the rib.
