ASHTRAY WITH EXTINGUISHING FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ashtray with extinguishing function free from the problems of the necessity of the periodical cleaning of a cigarette detector to prevent the erroneous detection caused by the lowering of the detection accuracy by stains attached to the detector and the difficulty in the alarming of the cleaning timing. SOLUTION: The ashtray is provided with a pair of circulating belts to extinguish the fire of a cigarette by pressing the cigarette between the belts in a pressing moving zone circulating in compressed state, an introducing zone formed by the circulating belts in a manner narrowing the zone toward an engaging zone to start the moving zone, a cigarette insertion pipe formed in the introducing zone directing the tip end toward the engaging zone and receiving a cigarette, and a motor for driving the circulating belts. The motor is driven upon the detection of a cigarette by the cigarette detector and stopped by the absence of the detection signal. The staining of the cigarette detector is memorized and followed to lower the erroneous detection caused by stain. The lowering of the detection accuracy caused by the staining of the cigarette detector is prevented to extend the cleaning interval of the detector and inform of the cleaning timing.
