PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing reducing the production cost and processing cost while ensuring high assembling accuracy when a housing part for a large-sized driving member is provided in a side plate in relation to the reel for fishing. SOLUTION: The reel for fishing is characterized as follows. A frame body having an outer peripheral shape is formed into a circular shape when viewed from the side by connecting a left and a right side frames with supports and a driving mechanism rotatably supporting a spool on a reel body composed of a side plate mounted on the lateral part of the frame body for winding and driving the spool is housed in the side plate. In the reel for fishing, a bulged part bulging out from the outer peripheral edge of the circular side frame is formed in the side plate and an opening opened to the side of the frame body of the bulged part is closed with a lid member separate from the frame body. The end of a handle shaft of the driving mechanism is freely rotatably engaged so as to prevent slip-off. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
