PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge an advance angle width of an ignition position of an igniter for an internal combustion engine provided with a voltage adjusting circuit of a short circuit type to adjust output voltage of a power generating coil as an ignition power source, and a circuit to prevent reverse rotation of an engine by bypassing a pulse given to an ignition timing control part when the reverse rotation of the engine is detected based on phase relation between output of the power generating coil and output of a pulser. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a short-circuit controlling switch circuit 21 to prohibit voltage adjusting action of the voltage adjusting circuit till rotation speed of the engine reaches a set value, and a pulse bypassing controlling switch 22 to permit an on-state of a pulse bypassing switch 17A when the rotation speed is the set value or less, and prohibit the on-state of the pulse bypassing switch 17A when the rotation speed is over the set value.
