The invention relates to a method for the production of surfactant granulates by neutralising anionic surfactant acids and, optionally, additional acidic components with solid neutralisation agents, wherein the anionic surfactant acid(s) and the solid neutralisation agent(s) are agglomerated in a free fall mixer and can optionally be post-treated. The solid neutralisation agents comprise sodium carbonate which at least partially reacts to form sodium hydrogen-carbonate and the ratio of the percentage of weight parts of sodium carbonate in relation to sodium hydrogen-carbonate in the final products obtained according to said method is 5:1 or higher. Based on the low consumption of energy and based on the content of the sodium hydrogen-carbonate in the reaction products, the surfactant granulates are particularly economic.
