The controller/monitor includes a heater (2) and a thermostat (3) which are stud shaped and integrated into the sensor section (4) of a cylinder (1), which comes into contact with the flowing liquid. The heater and thermostat can be only partially stud shaped and partially integrated in the sensor section or, where the stud shape cannot be realised, can be flat. They can be made of a highly heat conducting material i.e., copper, silver or a suitable ceramic.
