<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new RNA-protamine complex which satisfactorily exhibits performance characteristics of both RNA and protamine in the case of use as a health food and is produced in high qualities more economically than a case using their mixture. <P>SOLUTION: The RNA-protamine complex is formed by combining yeast-derived RNA with protamine derived from milt of fish without losing their activities. The method for producing the complex comprises grinding a suspension containing a yeast cell body to give slurry, adding a salt to the slurry, acidifying the slurry and adding protamine to the slurry to give the RNA-protamine complex. Since the obtained RNA-protamine complex is slightly water-soluble, the complex is readily separated by filtration, etc., and is used as it is as a material for a health food without a specific processing thereafter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
