PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lap type tile which can easily obtain a desired shape by suppressing deformation in burning. SOLUTION: This tile 20 is formed in such a manner that a width between front and a back sides is made gradually greater from an upper end 21 to a lower end 22 (see Fig. (a)). Thus, since density after the molding of the tile 20 is gradually changed from the upper end 21 to the lower end 22, rapid deformation can be suppressed in the burning of the tile 20. A recess 23 is formed at the lower end of the tile 20 (see Fig. (b)); and the upper end 21 of the tile 20 which is arranged in a lower step, and nail holes 25 can be inserted into the recess 23 of the tile 20 which is arranged in an upper step.
