PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of obtaining the tomogram of an optional position on a body axis by performing helical scanning synchronized with a heart rate. SOLUTION: Helical scanning is performed synchronized with the heart rate by a cone beam X-ray (707). A projection data set of the previously fixed number of views with a view whose time is matched with a heart phase fixed in advance based on a heart rate signal as a center is extracted by each heart rate period and by each detected element string (709 and 711). Based on the extracted projection data set, the existing range of a cross section whose image can be reconstituted is specified on the body axis (713) to set the position of the cross section(705). Based on the extracted projection data set, the image of a set cross section is generated by image reconstruction calculation adapted to relative displacement of the cross section with respect to the X-ray detector accompanying the expansion and spiral rotation of the cone beam X-ray in a thickness direction (715 to 721).
