PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizer composition which has an excellent deodorizing property to aldehyde and is easily handled and absorbed in a wooden material, and also provide a wooden material which holds excellent deodorizing property to the aldehyde even when a surface is ground. SOLUTION: The deodorizer composition contains a hydrazide compound and nonionic surfactant represented by a general formula:RO (CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>m</SB>(CH<SB>2</SB>CHCH<SB>3</SB>O)<SB>n</SB>(CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>P</SB>(CH<SB>2</SB>CHCH<SB>3</SB>O)<SB>q</SB>H (wherein R is an 8-22 C alkyl group; m is an integer of 2-16; n is an integer of 2-16; p is an integer of 5-28; and q is an integer of 0-24). The deodorizer composition contains the hydrazide compound of 0.1-20 wt%, the nonionic surfactant of 0.1-5 wt%, based on total amount, and one compound selected from a group consisting of metallic halides, metallic nitrates, metallic sulfates, metallic sulfites, and metallic hydroxides.
