METHOD FOR EXTRACTING RNA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting an RNA from an organism, especially a plant in an improved yield. SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) eluting an RNA-containing component from a biological tissue by mixing the biological tissue with a sodium isoascorbate-containing buffer solution, (b) separating a phase containing protein, a DNA and/or the like and a phase containing an RNA and polysaccharides from the resultant eluate and (c) isolating the RNA from the latter phase.
