PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply control method capable of realizing small power consumption than ever before in using data communication equipment for packet radio because communication is performed only for several minutes within a day to often cause the other time to be a standby even though a packet radio network is always connectable upon charging at a metered rate as the base regardless of the connection time and distance. SOLUTION: This power supply control method for data communication equipment for packet radio network comprises a means for maintaining a controller in an inactive state at the time of no communication to minimize the power consumption, and a means for restarting a system from the inactive state by providing a function for detecting a start request signal in a start signal processing means, notifying a power supply control means of the start request signal and restarting the inactive system.
