PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform operation management of a database without direct consciousness about a DBMS by cooperation between application or middleware and the DBMS in operation management. SOLUTION: Database operation management information describing execution timing and execution contents of the database operation management is stored from the application. In the start of operation management of the application, database operation management execution processing determines execution timing of the operation management according to the contents of the database operation management information. In the operation timing of the operation management, database operation management execution processing actuates operation management utility of the database to carry out the database operation management.
