A mobile device including an auto-connecting module, a manual-connecting module and an earphone with a detecting device is provided. The detecting device generates a status signal in accordance with the status of the earphone. A processor in the mobile device has a determining module, which selectively executes the auto-connecting function or the manual-connecting function according to the status signal. The detecting device includes a switch and a control unit for controlling the switch. When the earphone is in operation, the control unit turns off the switch to make the auto-connecting module active.
