The end plug for a pipe has a plug plate (2) with a spigot (3) extending orthogonally from it. The spigot is received in a cylindrical clamping sleeve (4) inserted into the pipe, to expand the sleeve. The sleeve has a bore which is smaller in diameter than the spigot which it receives. The sleeve can be tapered.
