TRANSPARENT IMPACT FORCE RELAXATION MEMBER, FILTER FOR PLASMA DISPLAY, AND PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously achieve the prevention of degradation in visibility and the prevention of damage of a PDP (Plasma Display Panel) by using a thin transparent impact force relaxation member capable of satisfactorily relaxing an external impact, integrating the member with a shielding member for shielding electromagnetic waves and near IR rays and directly laminating the same to the front display glass of the PDP.

SOLUTION: The filter for the PDP is formed by laminating, directly or through a transparent tacky adhesive, the transparent impact force relaxation member of which the elastic parameter obtained from the result of the analysis of the impact-time waveforms when a steel ball of a diameter 5cm and weight 510g free-falls from a height 20cm and is bombarded to the member ranges from 10 to 50MPa, the viscosity parameter ranges from 10-2to 10-6MPa and the visible ray transmittance is ≥40% and the shielding member 3 which shields either or both of the electromagnetic waves or near IR rays released from the PDP. The PDP display device is formed by laminating the filter to the front display glass 1 of the PDP.
