PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing-cum-connecting device for bumpers having a reinforcing-cum-connecting member with relaxed stress concentration, strength supplement and material yield of the connecting member. SOLUTION: When mounting a bumper 11 on the front end 2a of a support arm 2 supported on a frame F, a mounting part 12b is integrally formed being shifted in one direction from a fixing part, an opening 12c provided to the reinforcing-cum-connecting member 12 is fixed to the bumper 11, and the fixing part 12a is mounted to the front end of the support arm 2 supported on the frame F. Impact force can be respectively input to the fixing part being strongly received in the vicinity of the front end of the fixing part or being dispersed from the mounting part without any stress concentration. Then the force applied onto the vicinity of the center of an FUP (Front Underrun Protection) is released and the deformation of the FUP is prevented. The relaxed impact force input to the fixing part can be transmitted to the support arm through a bolt. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
