PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overhead valve type internal combustion engine capable of conducting two-cycle operation in which sufficient supply gas quantity can be achieved in high-load operation. SOLUTION: Inside a supply gas port 70, a fluid parting wall 200 is provided to part a passage in the supply gas port into a cylinder wall side passage 73 and an exhaust valve side passage 74. Based on the form of the fluid parting wall 200, flow speed of supply gas in the cylinder wall side passage 73 is set larger, and flow speed of supply gas in the exhaust valve side passage 74 smaller.
