ACOUSTIC ARTICLES UTILIZING ISOCYANATE BINDERS AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME

Acoustical panels and methods of making acoustical panels are provided. Isocyanate binder and material are blended together to produce a mixture of recycled material in step (100). The mixture of recycled material is formed into a panel in step (110), molded to form an acoustic article having a three dimensional contour in step (120), cured via steam and removed from the mold in step (130). The acoustic article is subjected to trimming operations in step (140), and one or more surfaces of the acoustic article may be covered with one or more layers of material in step (150). Scrap material generated by the trimming operations are then returned for reuse in step (160).
