Multiplication calculation device for cryptographic applications using iteration proces with several iteration steps

The multiplication calculation device has the positions of the multiplicator determined via a look-ahead algorithm, for provision of a multiplication shift value (Sm), with determination of an intermediate result shift value (Sz) and determination of a multiplicand shift value (Sc) from the difference between the intermediate result shift value and the multiplication shift value. A triple operand operation is executed using an intermediate result provided via the intermediate result shift value, a multiplicand obtained via the multiplicand shift value and the module for providing an intermediate result for the iteration step. An Independent claim for a method for multiplication of a multiplicator by a multiplicand relative to a given module is also included.
