<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a fuel cell capable of preventing reaction gas flowing in a gas flow path of a separator from short-cutting to flow into an adjacent gas flow path through a gas diffusion layer, and capable of obtaining a prescribed power through a uniform reaction in an electrode face. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode for the fuel cell 11A (a unit cell of the fuel cell)is formed by arranging a fuel electrode side catalyst layer 3 and an air electrode side catalyst layer 2 on either side of an electrolyte film 1, and arranging gas diffusion layers 4, 5 on the outer surface of the above, and further arranging a pair of separators 10 equipped with a plurality of concave and convex parts 20 forming gas flow paths 8 for reactive gas circulation on the outside surface of the above so as to face the catalyst layer 2, 3, and by tightening and pinching the electrolyte layer film 1, the catalyst layers 2, 3 and the gas diffusion layers 4, 5. The gas diffusion layer is tightened and pinched so that its thickness D1 of the gas diffusion layer before being pinched is reduced to not more than D1×0.9=D2 after being pinched. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
