<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiver that has excellent adjacent channel crosstalk characteristics, makes small deterioration caused by linear distortion by group delay deviation, and is suitable for a high-density wavelength multiplexed optical transmission system enabling long-distance transmission with satisfactory code error rate in the optica receiver for demultiplexing a light signal being wavelength-multiplexed to each channel signal light before receiving. <P>SOLUTION: The optical receiver comprises a branching filter 2 used as a light demultiplexing means for inputting the wavelength-multiplexed signal light and demultiplexing the wavelength-multiplexed signal light to each channel signal light for forming wavelength multiple, dispersion compensation modules 3-<SB>1</SB>to 3-<SB>n</SB>that are dispersion compensation means for compensating for the wavelength dispersion of each channel signal light demultiplexed by the light demultiplexing means, and bandpass filters 6-<SB>1</SB>to 6-<SB>n</SB>that are optical filtering means for restricting the band of each channel signal light being dispersed and compensated by the dispersion compensation means. In the optical receiver, a dielectric multilayer film optical filter having the maximum flat group delay characteristics is used as the optical filtering means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
