<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method which ensures the secure deposition of an ink in an image pattern region where an image is formed with the minimization of a scumming, a plate making device, a printing plate and a printing device. <P>SOLUTION: This recording method comprises the following steps: first, a recording element 1 is prepared which is structured of a recording layer 3 comprising a member of such a nature that the receding contact angle is lowered by heating/cooling the member in a state where it is kept in contact with a liquid and the value of the receding contact angle is recovered by heating the member in the air, formed on a substrate 2; a liquid layer 16 is formed by applying an uncrosslinked ink repellent member over the overall surface of the recording layer 3 of the recording element 1; and the printing plate 7 is manufactured by removing the liquid layer 16 of an image part 4 after developing an ink repellency by crosslinking a non-image part 5 of the liquid layer 16 according to image information.
