<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To let a driver have no sense of incompatibility by bringing the vehicle speed control close to the vehicle speed control at a curve carried out by a general driver. <P>SOLUTION: Respective nodes existing at a front side of the vehicle are detected and stable traveling speed V<SB>T</SB>, i.e., the vehicle speed for stably traveling when the vehicle passes through the respective nodes and a decelerationα<SB>n</SB>required for accelerating/speed-reducing to the stable traveling speed at the nodes until the vehicle arrives at the respective nodes are calculated in order (S110). The point where a value of the speed-reduction degree becomes the largest is selected based on the decelerationα<SB>n</SB>of the respective nodes and the vehicle is speed-reduction controlled such that the speed becomes the stable traveling speed at the point until it arrives at the point (S120-S170). When the point where the curved degree of the curve becomes the largest is different from the point where the previous value of the deceleration becomes the largest and exists at the front side of the vehicle (S180: existing), necessary speed-reduction control is further carried out (S190, S200). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
