PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wasteful power consumption during preliminary operation based on instructions of on-timer reserved operation in the absence of a user, without an increase in cost of equipment. SOLUTION: This air-conditioner 1 is connected to a remote control device 2 via a communication line 4 in a communicative manner. In the air-conditioner 1, when instructions of on-time reserved operation are given by the remote control device 2, an air-conditioning load 8 is preliminarily operated in a shorter time than in the case that instructions of on-timer reserved operation are given by instruction means (a remote controller 3 and a switch 10) and with its maximum capability so that room temperature reaches a set temperature at a set time with on-timer reservation. Namely, when the instructions of on-timer reserved operation are given through remote control, the air-conditioning load 8 is preliminarily operated in a sequence different from that in the case that the instructions of on-timer reserved operation are given by the instruction means.
