PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically deciding the combination of screens with less moires. SOLUTION: The device for deciding the combination of the screens decides the combination of the screens to be used by an image output device to express the gradation of each element color in the halftone formed of a plurality of dots and to reproduce an image. First of all, a screen spectrum is generated for each element color by a screen spectrum generation part 104 and a spectrum calculation part 106. And, the screen spectrum and an image spectrum are convoluted for each element color by a convolution execution part 108. The combination of the screens is evaluated by an evaluation value calculation part 116 on the basis of the composite spectrum data.
