PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary to allow inputting and displaying of a memo with a reduced inputting operation. SOLUTION: This electronic dictionary is provided with a control part (13) for controlling the retrieval of a dictionary data storage part (B0) or a memo data storage part (C0) with respect to an inputted header word for the display of the retrieval result at a display part and the registration of memo data in the memo data storage part (C0) with respect to an arbitrary header word. At the time of registering memo data with respect to the arbitrary header word, the control part (13) controls the automatic input of at least either a registered header word (B2) or a preliminarily set designated title (A4) as title data (C5) of the memo data storage part (C0) for reducing the inputting operation of the title.
